Simon French, CEO, Alpha Academies Trust
One partner. Every school. Consistent outcomes across your trust.
We work with MAT CEOs and Executive Headteachers to build trust-wide enrichment strategies that work at scale, pooling your collective buying power and producing consistent evidence across every school in your portfolio.
- Trust-wide enrichment strategy built around your improvement priorities
- Collective buying power, delivering an average 34% below market across all schools
- Every programme mapped to the five Ofsted enrichment categories
- Consistent impact reporting across all schools, ready for trustees and Ofsted
- Funding support to maximise access for disadvantaged pupils
- Single point of contact, zero additional workload on your teams
Programmes, trips and everything in between
From onsite workshops to overseas residentials, ESL covers the full breadth of enrichment a trust needs. Every activity is mapped to the Ofsted enrichment framework from day one.
Onsite and offsite programmes across all five Ofsted categories
We design and deliver programmes that work at both school and trust level, covering every enrichment category Ofsted inspectors look for. All programmes are built around your schools' objectives, not an off-the-shelf catalogue.
More destinations. Better value. Less work for your staff.
We source, negotiate and manage school trips on your behalf, delivering below-market rates across your whole trust through collective procurement. Every trip is mapped to Ofsted enrichment categories and includes full impact evidence.
Self-led trips
We design it. Your schools pay the suppliers directly.
Our self-led trips model gives your schools a fully planned, ready-to-run trip. We design the entire itinerary, source and book every component including accommodation, food, activities and transport, then hand everything over so each school pays the vendors directly.
Flights are the one exception — schools book those independently. Everything else is handled by ESL.
- Full itinerary designed around the school's objectives and year group
- All accommodation, meals, activities and transport sourced and booked
- School pays vendors directly, no mark-up and no agency margin
- Detailed trip pack handed over including supplier contacts, schedules and risk framework
- Flights booked independently by the school

Heard from trust leaders
We could never have achieved the volume or variety of activities and trips without support from ESL.
From first conversation to implementation, the process felt clear and well managed. ESL understood our objectives quickly and helped us shape opportunities that genuinely added value for our pupils.
Trusts without a coherent enrichment strategy are increasingly exposed at inspection.
Ofsted's personal development judgement continues to scrutinise the breadth and consistency of enrichment provision. The 2026 Education White Paper places enrichment at the centre of school improvement. Without a trust-wide strategy and consistent impact evidence, demonstrating the quality of your offer at inspection is increasingly difficult.
- Ofsted inspectors increasingly scrutinise the consistency and breadth of enrichment across a trust
- Schools negotiating individually lose the collective buying power a trust relationship with ESL provides
- Without a clear framework, disadvantaged pupils are least likely to access meaningful enrichment
- Uncoordinated enrichment places growing administrative pressure on already stretched staff
